Le Comité national olympique et sportif béninois (Cnos-Ben) a organisé, le jeudi 22 décembre 2022 le 2ème forum des athlètes du Bénin à Cotonou. Après une 1ère édition réussie, les athlètes du Bénin se sont réunis pour penser à leur avant et après carrière sous l’égide de la Commission des athlètes du Bénin.
Il était plus d’une cinquantaine à prendre part aux travaux venants de toutes Fédérations affiliées au Cnos Ben et des Associations sportives. Organisée par le Comité national olympique et sportif béninois (Cnos-Ben), cette rencontre a été l’occasion pour les participants d’échanger sur les actions à mener pour leur promotion et pour leur avenir.
Pendant une journée, il y a eu des communications, des échanges, des sessions de questions-réponses et des ateliers interactifs pour responsabiliser, inspirer et unir la communauté mondiale des athlètes. La préparation de la carrière d’un athlète, l’hygiène de vie de l’athlète, le dopage, la gestion de l’après carrière ; ont été les points déclinés lors de ce 2e Forum des athlètes du Bénin dont l’objectif est aussi de fournir aux participants les ressources pour renforcer leur propre commission des athlètes.
Pour Gloria Koussihouèdé, responsable des projets au Cnos-Ben, à l’instar du Comité international olympique, le Cnos-Ben a décidé de rassembler les athlètes des différentes Fédérations pour leur permettre de réfléchir sur les problématiques les concernant, notamment la transition de carrière et la gestion de la vie socioprofessionnelle.
Julien Minavoa, Président du Comité national olympique et sportif béninois (Cnos Ben) affirme que le sport n’existe que parce qu’il y a des athlètes. « Certains athlètes ne se connaissaient pas, c’est une opportunité qui leur est offerte pour se connaitre. C’est l’occasion qui leur est offerte pour échanger, pour dire quels sont leurs besoins », informe-t-il. Plusieurs experts sportifs nationaux, Achille Aïhou, Gloria Koussihouèdé, Fernando Hessou pour ne citer que ces grandes figures du mouvement sportif national, ont à tour de rôle, apporté la connaissance aux participants. Achille Aïhou, a d’abord défini la carrière.
Selon lui, la carrière dans ce cadre-ci, intéresse le haut niveau. Les athlètes doivent savoir quel athlète on appelle athlète de haut niveau. « On leur a dit qu’à partir du moment où c’est aussi rigoureux qu’il faut s’entraîner aussi longtemps et s’entraîner longtemps, exige de faire des sacrifices, être suffisamment motivé. Avoir une hygiène de vie saine », fait-il constater.
