Quelques jours, après avoir obtenu son affiliation provisoire de la World Baseball and Softball Confederation, le 21 novembre 2019, la Fédération béninoise de Baseball et de Softball vient d’obtenir une formation de la Solidarité olympique au profit des entraîneurs pour le niveau 1. Ladite formation démarre ce mardi 10 décembre 2019 et s’achève le mercredi 18 décembre 2019 à la salle de conférence de la Maison des Fédérations et sera conduite par l’expert canadien de la Wbsc, Mike Renney. Durant ces huit jours de formation, les candidats vont suivre plusieurs modules de formation dont les fondamentaux du Baseball et de Softball et comment enseigner la discipline aux jeunes enfants afin de les amener à être des stars dans l’avenir.
« L’objectif est le renforcement des capacités certifiant le niveau 1 international des entraîneurs afin d’avoir les atouts nécessaires pour donner la meilleure formation aux athlètes. Il s’agit d’acquérir les compétences permettant d’accompagner chaque athlète de Baseball et de Softball en formation. Juste après cette formation, les formateurs auront à recruter et à travailler avec ces enfants dans le but de l’organisation du championnat national de Baseball et de Softball » ; indique Fernando Lavenir Atannon.
L’expert a rallié Cotonou dans l’après-midi de ce lundi 9 décembre 2019. Il a été accueilli à l’aéroport par le président de la F2bs, Fernando Lavenir Atannon et le Secrétaire général du Comité national olympique et sportif béninois (Cnos-ben), Fernando Hessou. Dès sa descente, l’expert Mike Renney a été conduit à la Maison des Fédérations à la Haie Vive. Après une visite de courtoisie au président du Cnos-ben Julien Minavoa, il a inspecté la salle de conférence de la Maison des Fédérations où tout le dispositif pour accueillir les cours est déjà mis en place. Il a ensuite mis le cap sur le stade de l’amitié pour la visite du cadre qui va accueillir la pratique.
