Le quatrième numéro de votre rubrique du lundi , « Bénin Sport à cœur ouvert », reçoit pour vous, Marthe Gada, ancienne footballeuse, ancienne volleyeuse, membre du Comité exécutif de la Fédération béninoise de Volley-ball et actuelle Secrétaire Particulière de Directeur exécutif du Centre multimédia des adolescents et des jeunes du Bénin (Cmajb). Avec elle, nous avons abordé le thème « Femme et Sport ». Notre Invitée nous parle de son parcours sportif, de sa vie après sa retraite sportive et du Cmajb.
Grande sportive béninoise, Marthe Gada est assurément l’une des femmes les plus marquantes du sport béninois. Connue pour avoir pratiqué à la fois deux disciplines sportives, elle nous raconte son parcours sportif : « J’ai pratiqué deux disciplines sportives, le football et le volley ball. J’ai commencé par le foot puis j’ai enchaîné avec le volley. Au début tout ça n’était qu’un jeu pour moi. Après c’est devenu très vite une passion ».
Marthe Gada à son actif un palmarès impressionnant. Durant sa carrière professionnelle , elle a décroché une multitude de récompenses ,aussi bien individuelle que collective (championne du Bénin au football et au volley-ball, meilleure buteuse au foot, meilleur service et meilleure passeuse au volley, trophée meilleure ancienne gloire, lauréate de plusieurs trophées… ).
Après plus de 15 années passées sur les terrains, Marthe Gada prend sa retraite. « c’est vrai que j’avais raccroché mais j’ai été sollicitée pour aider un peu l’équipe ». Grâce à ses diplômes d’entraîneur de volley-ball ( niveau 1 et 2 ), elle s’occupe de la formation de jeunes volleyeurs : « Depuis quelques années je me suis consacrée à la formation des jeunes volleyeurs grâce au projet du ministre Didier Akplogan avec l’appui et l’aide de monsieur Ali Yaro ».
Marthe Gada ne foule pas que les airs de jeux. Elle est désormais la secrétaire administrative au Centre multimédia des adolescents et des jeunes du Bénin (Cmajb). C’est un office placé sous tutelle du ministère des sports.
Marthe Gada est la preuve qu’en Afrique et particulièrement au Bénin, « femme et sports », n’est pas un mythe mais bien une réalité. A lundi prochain pour un autre numéro de votre rubrique.
