Depuis sa prise de commandement, le jeudi 22 août 2019 en remplacement du Chef d’Escadron Max Zola Soglohoun, dont il salue l’engagement personnel dans le sport, le Lieutenant-Colonel Judicaël Houngbédji, après diagnostic fait, a décidé de relancer le sport. Après ses expériences à Natitingou, à Toffo et à Bembéréké, le nouveau Chef de corps du 2ème Bataillon interarmes (BIA) veut révolutionner le sport malgré le poids des servitudes et l’absence des moyens financiers. Il est tout de même confiant en l’avenir.
En effet, pour y parvenir, le Lieutenant-Colonel Judicaël Houngbédji vient de nommer le Capitaine Lafia Séro Malick comme Officier des sports du 2ème BIA. Récemment rentré d’opération au Mali, il aura pour mission de coordonner toutes les activités sportives au sein des unités sous son commandement. « Mon ambition est de redynamiser le sport de compétition tout en renforçant l’Entraînement Physique Militaire » ; annonce le Lieutenant-colonel Judicaël Houngbédji qui compte d’ailleurs sur la collaboration de tous et surtout sur le soutien du Chef d’état-major de l’armée de terre, le Colonel Fructueux Gbaguidi. » J’ai toute ma confiance en lui (Sourire…), je sais qu’il pourra nous aider malgré ses difficultés quotidiennes « ; conclu le Lieutenant-colonel.
