Dreals Paris et La Ligue de Basket-ball de Johannesburg ont procédé, ce samedi 16 septembre 2023 au lancement du Stop 6 de la League professionnelle africaine 3×3 « African Quest 2023 ». Sur les installations de Melrose Arch, Johannesburg in Gauteng province, le Directeur général de Dreals Paris, Jean-Marc Aloumon et Cabby Magongwa, Président de la Ligue de Basket-ball de Johannesburg et de Dark Child Production, ont officiellement lancé la fête du Basketball 3×3.
Durant deux jours, Johannesburg sera la capitale du Basketball 3×3 qui est en pleine expansion en Afrique. Au total, 14 équipes Séniors dont 4 Dames animent cette compétition. Chez les Séniors Hommes, outre les équipes sud-africaine (Pantsulas Basketball; Bomb Squad; It’s You There; Raptors; SBC; The Marines; Warriorz), on note la présence de deux équipes de la République Démocratique du Congo (Skinny Boyz; Sons Of Suns) et une du Botswana (Team Bw). Chez les Séniors Dames, Élite Crew (Afrique du Sud); Prolific Sports (Afrique du Sud); Netty Shots (Botswana) et Team Bw (Botswana) prennent part à ce Stop.
Pour la formule de la competition, les Hommes sont répartis en trois poules. Les 8 meilleures équipes seront qualifiées pour les quarts de finale. Chez les Dames, les quatre équipes qui jouent aujourd’hui, s’affrontent à nouveau, ce dimanche pour les demi-finales afin de dégager les finalistes. Jean-Marc Aloumon, Directeur général de Dreals Paris a rappelé que la finalité de sa structure à court et moyen terme, est de faciliter la qualification des sélections africaines pour les compétitions officielles de FIBA 3×3 « avec comme ligne de mire, Jeux Olympiques de Paris 2024 ».
